Lands of Ancient Greece: Climbing camp in the cradle of Europe.
Un camp autant pour les passionnés d'escalade que pour les nouveaux venus dans ce sport. dans la région de la capitale de l'escalade en Europe: la péninsule du PéloponnèseCamp Gallery:
In brief:
Originally introduced in 2021, this camp can be defined as a contrasting mix of experiences: a mix of relaxed sports and entertainment, climbing trips and days by the sea, in a land of mountains and valleys, historical battles and widespread culture. For 2 weeks we will travel mainly through the Peneloponesse Peninsula, an absolute epicenter for culture, history and natural beauty. We’ll stop and explore world-famous climbing spots that belong in the climbing history books. In addition, we will have fun in many beaches and water sports. We’ll travel from Athens to Olympia (the birthplace of the Olympic Games), exploring both the Greek countryside and the waterfront and searching for the most popular and best climbing spots on the Peloponnese peninsula along the way.
The program:
Why should I attend this camp?
The Ancient Greek Lands camp is a unique opportunity, where campers have the chance to challenge themselves in a new and exciting way. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, they will hone their climbing skills, increase their confidence, and gain a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Whether they’re climbing challenging rock formations, exploring scenic trails, or simply taking in breathtaking views, they’ll be surrounded by stunning natural beauty at every turn.
By pushing themselves to new heights, campers will not only develop their strength and endurance, but they will also discover their own inner strength. With each new challenge they overcome, they will develop a greater sense of self-awareness, courage, and determination. And, by working as a team, they will forge lasting bonds with their fellow campers and instructors, creating a supportive community that will encourage and inspire them throughout the week.
When the day ends and campers return to their tents or cabins, they will be filled with a sense of accomplishment, pride, and admiration. They will reminisce about the day’s adventures, share stories and memories with their new friends. And, as they fall asleep under the stars, they will do so with a sense of wonder, knowing that the next day will bring even more challenges and exciting discoveries.
This camp is a one-of-a-kind experience, where campers will leave feeling inspired, empowered, and changed. With a renewed sense of purpose, they will return home with a greater appreciation for the world around them and a lasting sense of pride in all they have accomplished. It is truly the opportunity of a lifetime, one they will never forget.

A typical day
What physical condition should I be in?
Since we will be participating in different outdoor activities throughout the trip, our students must have a minimum of physical fitness to participate in the camp. But in our experience, this is the case for 95% of young people between 11 and 16 years old! In the months leading up to your trip, we recommend that you participate in physical activity at least once a week if you are not already doing so. Since we will be separating groups according to the level of climbing and different instructors will have different skill levels, the camp welcomes beginners in outdoor climbing. All other activities will take place together. Contact us if in doubt, we will be happy to guide you to the best camp.

What if I don't know anyone else?
Most of our students come to Young Explorers Club without knowing anyone before their trip. You’ll start making friends as soon as you arrive at the airport (and our instructors will be there to help). Once the journey is over, you won’t want to leave your new community! Most of our students remain friends long after their summer is over. We firmly believe that life is about having new experiences and making the most of every moment. However, we also recognize that the most meaningful experiences often require stepping out of our comfort zones and venturing away from familiar surroundings. When we do this, we find ourselves in unfamiliar and challenging environments, which forces us to fully engage with our surroundings and truly live in the moment. These new places and situations often bring new perspectives and can inspire us to continue seeking out new experiences that push us to grow and broaden our horizons.
What are the other students like?
The teenagers who come to the Young Explorers Club are kind, welcoming, eager to learn and come from all over Switzerland, France, USA and elsewhere. Our groups are full of positive young adults who will work well with each other. Young Explorers Club places a strong emphasis on group dynamics and creating a supportive social environment, and our students reflect this.
