Tour of Mont Blanc Camp: the week of 26 July 2026

26 Jul – 1 Aug 2026 Mont Blanc massif Updated

Teens aged 13 to 17 spent a week trekking on the Tour du Mont Blanc, carrying their packs and sleeping mats from one camp to the next. The photos the leaders sent show high trails, mountain lakes and nights in tents below the peaks.

A rest by a turquoise lake and on the high grass

On Friday the leaders shared photos of slower moments. The group sat on smooth rocks at the edge of a turquoise mountain lake, below grey and green slopes, looking out over the water. Two of them found a sunny spot on the grass high above the valley, facing the snow-covered range on the far side, their packs dropped beside them. A small group sat together on a rocky knoll in a green bowl, the low sun throwing long shadows across the slope. The sky was clear and deep blue, with only a few patches of snow left on the peaks around the lake.

Day 5 ·

High trails, rocky paths and tents above the valley

Thursday brought the biggest set of photos of the week, from the trail and the camps of the last days. The group walked in single file along open ridges and up rocky paths, each with a big pack and a rolled sleeping mat strapped on top. Snowfields and glaciers filled the skyline across the valley under a deep blue sky. One photo caught a moment worth telling: an animal grazing among the boulders a few steps from the path, and one of the group pointing it out to the others. Higher up, small tents were pitched on a grassy shelf below a rock wall, and in the evening the jagged peaks across the valley turned orange and lay reflected in a still pool.

Day 3 ·

First photos from the trail: a valley view and tents at dusk

The first photos from the trail reached us on Tuesday. In one, three of the group stand at a railed viewpoint high above a deep, wooded valley, packs on their backs, under a clear blue sky, with a ridge of rocky peaks behind them. In the other, the group's tents stand on a grassy pitch at the foot of the mountains, the cooking gear and water cans set out beside them. The highest summits across the valley had caught the pink light of a low sun, while the slopes below were already in shade.
