Day 3 ·
Above the valley on the Tour du Mont Blanc
On Tuesday the leaders sent the photos of the trail. They show the group out on the Tour du Mont Blanc in full summer: green slopes, dark forest, a village far below and the ice of a glacier spilling down from the peaks above. The moment that came back most often was a stop on a rocky ledge. The group sat close together on the warm stone, packs off, and looked out over the valley for a while before going on. Earlier, two of the group stood with their hiking poles at the edge of the parking area, looking up at the ridge they were about to climb. The sky was mixed, sun and big white clouds, good weather for walking.
