Teen Leadership and Adventure Camp: the week of 26 July 2026

The photos shared on Friday were taken high up. Three of the group stood on a grassy summit with their arms open wide, a range of snow-covered peaks behind them in the evening light. As the sun dropped towards the ridges, its rays fell across the slope where they stood, and they raised their arms to it. The sky was clear and the mountains went on in every direction. A selfie taken in the grass under a blue sky caught the mood of the group: close together and smiling.

On Thursday the group went downhill on mountain carts. It started under a shelter at the top, helmets on and everyone in the club's light blue shirts. Then the carts rolled one after another down a dirt track between the meadows, dark pine forest on both sides and not a cloud in the sky. The photos show riders sitting low, hands on the handlebars and grinning at the camera as they came past. Between runs there was time in the shade of the trees, and two friends found a moment for a hug.

The photos the leaders shared on Tuesday showed two sides of the week. In the first, the group stood in a row by a river under the trees, zipped into wetsuits, paddles in hand, with spare wetsuits hanging on a rail beside them. Then came the evening. The group climbed through long grass and forest to a rocky point above a wide valley and stood arm in arm, looking out as the clouds turned pink and orange over the peaks. They walked back down the narrow path through the meadow in the last of the light.
