OFFRE 2023

Itinerant Camp: The Tour du Mont Blanc

1 week sessions between 06.07.24 - 24.08.24 for 8 -12 and 13-16 year olds

The Tour du Mont Blanc is kid-friendly, which means short days and less steep climbs. The Itinerary is a breathtaking mythical hike that offers a chance to immerse yourself in the rich natural heritage of the region. It is a journey of discovery and personal fulfillment that leaves a lasting impression and inspires a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. The camp is offered in two versions for two age groups and is offered in one-week sessions.

Swiss Travel Camp: Cycling through Graubünden.

2-week sessions between 06.07.24 - 24.08.24 for 8 -12 and 13-16 year olds

3rd edition of the most popular camp. We will travel (with short days by bike) through valleys, forests, rivers and much more in a breathtaking route through Graubünden. This is not a bike camp, it is a travel and exploration camp, that is, the camp consists of short days of cycling in order to enjoy all the other wonders that the area offers.

Itinerant Camp: Around the Vaud Alps

1 week sessions between 06.07.24 - 24.08.24 for 8 -16 year olds

We have therefore adapted the Via Alpina 2019 camp to make it accessible to all newcomers to hiking camp. The route follows a version of the “Tour des Alpes Vaudoises” trail in the heart of the canton of Vaud with departure and arrival in Château-d’Oeux. This area is known for its dark skies, and so one of the main goals of the trip is to explore this part of nature with nighttime activities and night sky observations.

Medieval Routes in Spain Camp (FULL CAMP)

07.07.23 - 23.07.23 for 13 - 16 year olds

The summer camp in Spain (Camino de Santiago route) is a unique and exciting opportunity for young people to embark on a journey of self-discovery and cultural immersion. During this two-week camp, participants will travel the ancient pilgrimage route known as the Camino de Santiago, while experiencing the stunning natural beauty of northern Spain. The camp consists of discovering many local activities and traditions and trying your hand at rock climbing, scuba diving and many other sports.

The pillars of our programs:

d

a
Notre aspect social

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions):

What if I don't have any outdoor experience?

All right! Most of our new students don’t have experience in most of the outdoor activities we do. Our instructors work closely together to teach you the skills you’ll need. By the end of the trip, you’ll be a pro at setting up camp, cooking in the backcountry, and more! If you have experience, our instructors will be happy to help you improve your existing skills.

Am I ready for outings like these?

If you play sports during the school year, you’re probably prepared! We get this question a lot. Being scared is a common feeling whenever you do something new. Outings during the week are not competitions. Above all, they are fun experiences where we will explore a lot, travel, explore natural sites, do outdoor sports, learn life skills, make new friends and disconnect from an overly stressful city life.

What shape should I be in?

Since we will be participating in different outdoor activities throughout each trip, our students must have a minimum of physical fitness to participate in Young Explorers Club but in our experience this is the case for 90% of young people between 11 and 15 years old. We know that fitness is different for everyone, but it’s important to prepare so that you and your classmates can succeed. In the months leading up to your trip, we recommend that you participate in physical activity at least once a week if you are not already doing so. This can be hiking, jogging or running, biking, football or basketball, or anything else that helps your cardiovascular fitness.

What if I'm not comfortable with one of the activities?

Our programs and activities are based on the “challenge by choice” theory. This means that we will encourage all campers to participate and challenge themselves in the activities, but if they are truly opposed to continuing, they absolutely do not have to. We assess the intensity of any activity we do on the abilities of campers as a whole, not individually. An example would be that: We walk as fast as our slowest hiker. We strive to challenge each of our campers and also create situations that give them a sense of accomplishment, confidence, and achievement.

What if I don't know anyone else?

Most of our students come to Young Explorers Club without knowing anyone before their trip. You’ll start making friends as soon as you arrive at the airport (and our instructors will be there to help). Once the journey is over, you won’t want to leave your new community! Most of our students remain friends long after their summer is over.

What are the other students like?

The teenagers who come to the Young Explorers Club are kind, welcoming, eager to learn and come from all over Switzerland. Our groups are full of positive young adults who will work well with each other. YOUNG EXPLORERS CLUB has a strong emphasis on group dynamics and creating a supportive social environment, and our students reflect this.
